National Library of Chemical Sciences

The library at the International Center for Chemical Sciences (H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry), University of Karachi has been awarded the status of National Library of Chemical Sciences by the Higher Education Commission in 2003. It is the endeavor of the National Library of Chemical Sciences to support the advanced chemical education programs and research scholarly activities throughout Pakistan. The National Library of Chemical Sciences also encourages the use of its full facilities by the community of chemists and other researchers in related disciplines.

The library has grown from a collection of 500 volumes in one room to a large library consisting of over 7000 books plus 170 titles of journals. The library is an integral component of ICCS library system, with sister libraries at the PCMD and IAC. The combined collection of H.E.J.'s library is more than twenty thousand printed works.

Still over the decades, the library's objective has remained consistent to further the advancement of learning in the filed of chemical and biochemical sciences.
