   International Symposium-cum-
Training Course on
Molecular Medicine and Drug Research

January 7 – 10, 2013

SCOPE

Molecular medicine is an emerging field that deals with the advances in molecular and cellular biology to characterize how a normal cellular process either fails or succeeds in subverting the disease. New knowledge in the field of genomics, molecular pharmacology, immunology and cell biology is expanding the scope of the innumerable inconceivable possibilities in the search for the development of new drugs and mechanism-based therapies.

In recent years, there has been enormous growth in the understanding of biological processes at the molecular level. The development is continuous with sharp focus on the essential molecular mechanisms underlying the normal functioning of cells, tissues and organisms. Molecular biological methods are used to discover the mechanism of pathological processes leading to the development of new therapeutic concepts, based on the understanding of molecular medicine.

The following aspects of molecular medicine and drug discovery will be covered in this symposium:

    • Molecular Immunology
    • Molecular Oncology
    • Neuroscience
    • Gene Therapy
    • Stem Cell Therapy
    • Tissue Engineering
    • Infectious Diseases
    • Metabolic Disorders
    • Molecular Pharmacology and Drug Resistance
    • Functional Genomics and Proteomics
    • Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
    • Structural Biology
    • Translational Biomedical Research
